Welcome to Boleysillagh Farm, where our journey began in September 2019 on a 1.1-hectare cut-away spent peatland, aiming for restoration through permaculture and agroforestry principles. We are dedicated to conducting longitudinal studies on practical trials that seek to restore the delicate balance between heterotrophic and autotrophic decomposition processes that occurs in the bog. Our mission goes beyond simple restoration; we strive to foster a thriving ecosystem rich in bacterial and fungal diversity to enhance biogeochemical processes.
